Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa
Wailea, Maui
The Hibiscus Pool is an adults-only pool named for the beautiful flower mosaic on the bottom made from over 630,000 pieces of Mexican glass mosaic tile. There are also 2 Jacuzzis here. Relax and tan in a very peaceful atmosphere while enjoying tranquil views of the Pacific.
Rising out of its Hawaiian Garden of Eden the Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa is a lavish $600-million hotel styled in the classic manner of the early 1900s. A movie star favorite, Grand Wailea Maui is an elegant enclave of courtyards, terraces, gardens, waterfalls, and fountains. The resort, situated on 40 acres of majestic rolling hills on world-famous Wailea Beach offers 780 guest rooms, 70 percent of them overlooking Wailea Beach.
There is an upscale hilltop clubhouse that services all three courses at Wailea Golf Club. Its signature dining spot is SeaWatch, a stunning open-air restaurant cooled by the gentle tradewinds. Here you can relax and enjoy exceptional seafood delicacies.
Also designed by Jones Jr., the Gold Course is the most challenging course and has been ranked as one of the world's best designed courses by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler. Designed with classic golf course elements, then finished with a rugged, natural look this course's 200 foot elevation change from top to bottom is enhanced with numerous ocean and mountain vistas from virtually every hole. Known as a "thinking player's" course, the Gold demands strategy and careful club selection to be played well.
Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., the Emerald Course has been rated as one of the best new courses by Golf Magazine and Golf Digest, as well as one of North America's most women-friendly by Golf for Women. Surrounded by magnificent mountain and ocean views, this course has been designed for pure golf enjoyment, regardless of your handicap. One of the Emerald’s most picturesque spots is a large double green shared by holes #10 and #17.
Among Grand Wailea's architectural highlights is a 15,000-square-foot pool of inlaid glass mosaic tile, bordered by 60-foot high regal palms. A 2,000-foot-long river-pool features a 10-minute swim/ride through simulated mountains and grottos with a 35-foot drop to a series of pools with waterfalls, caves, a rope swing, whitewater rapids, a sand beach, and scuba diving pool.
A lovely way to greet the day is at the Grand Dining Room Maui, with stunning views of Molokini, Lanai, and the West Maui Mountains. Breakfast is a bountiful buffet affair, with a la carte selections also available.
Bistro Molokini has a relaxing, open-air ambience and breathtaking views of the Pacific and distant islands. Food here is a delightful blend of Mediterranean cuisine infused with Hawaiian flavors. Prepared in an open-air facility with an exhibition kitchen and kiawe wood-burning oven.
Camp Grande, the "Children's Resort" for kids ages 5 to 12 is staffed with qualified personnel also on hand for nighttime supervision. Children have access to a fully equipped craft room, theater, game room, outside play area, and restaurant. Nature walks and workshops with lei making, ukulele lessons, and T-shirt dying keep little hands active. The Nanny Connection offers private baby sitting services.
The opulent Spa Grande, Hawaii's largest spa, combines traditional Hawaiian with American, European, Japanese, and Indian spa treatments and therapies. The two-story facility is designed with inlaid Italian marble, original artwork, mahogany millwork, and Venetian chandeliers. Terme Wailea Hydrotherapy Circuit, the ultimate relaxer, is the spa's signature experience. For pampering in paradise, check into Maui's Grand Wailea Resort Hotel!
